At the Research Department of Georgian International Medical Student Society (GIMSOC), we are proud to run Interest Group Societies (IGS) — collaborative communities where students passionate about specific fields of medicine come together to explore research opportunities, develop critical thinking, and build research skills.
Each IGS is guided by mentors and senior peers, fostering a supportive environment for discussions, literature reviews, research projects, and presentations. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced student researcher, IGS offer a platform to grow, connect, and contribute meaningfully to medical science.
We're thrilled to announce a new initiative from GIMSOC: our upcoming Research Portfolio, designed to showcase the incredible work of our members.
This portfolio is more than a collection of projects. It's a celebration of the curiosity and collaboration driving medical innovation in our community, featuring impactful research by your peers with recognition of the brilliant minds behind each contribution.
The Research Team actively organizes a range of academic events — from research workshops to mentorship sessions — which aims to help build a strong research foundation among students.
These events are designed not only to introduce participants to the principles of medical research, but also to provide hands-on guidance in study design, data analysis, and scientific writing. Our recent flagship event "The Abstract Art" focused on advancing scientific writing capabilities.
We are proud to showcase the published research of GIMSOC members, reflecting their dedication to academic excellence and the advancement of medicine. Research lies at the core of medical progress, and at GIMSOC, we actively promote a culture of inquiry, discovery, and innovation. Every paper published by our members is a step forward for the medical community and a source of inspiration for future researchers.
