In the bustling chaos of life, there exists an idea of discovery, empowerment and community building - Georgian International Medical Student Society. Our story began in 2023, with a spark of unwavering commitment to make a difference in the lives of medical students in Georgia.
A group of passionate medical students led by the co-founders, Onyekachi Anyagwa and Rajeeka Singh Tak, came together with a shared vision - to bring medical students in Georgia together and provide them with a way to access knowledge, unlike any other. The dream was clear — to create a non-profit, student-led organisation dedicated to educate and grow.
With the active leadership of our prior co-chairs Oluwatoyin Dairo and Farhad Islam, our team took shape. The dedicated members of every department worked hand-in-hand to bring GIMSOC's presence to light.
We continued planning events that slowly transformed bare venues into platforms for students to not just learn, but to shine and thrive. From suturing to phlebotomy, we meticulously crafted workshops to engage students in active learning, creating memorable experiences that would shape future medical professionals.
Diving into our third year, we are working forward to cause a positive impact amongst med-students worldwide through communicating with inspiring medical students by equipping and empowering them for future practice. Under the dedicated leadership of our current Co-Chairs, Radha Jaiswal and Kay Mamphoka, we look ahead with purpose.
We are more than just an organisation; we are an initiative fueled by collaboration, curiosity, and care, creating a legacy where every medical student has the tools and support to flourish. Our vision continues to evolve, but our commitment to excellence remains unwavering.
To empower and equip medical students with the knowledge, skills, and community support they need to excel in their medical journey and make a meaningful impact in healthcare.
