COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
The Outreach Department of GIMSOC serves as a growing pillar of our society, rooted in compassion and driven by the desire to give back to the community we reside in. Events are organized by this team to encourage other students to help for causes we try to shine light on. Here's a snapshot of some recent fundraising and awareness events that reflect our collective creativity, compassion, and community spirit—raising funds in support of vital causes.
Pink Ribbon Festival
A vibrant fundraiser for breast cancer awareness, featuring a bake sale, games like Ping Toss and Dart Dash, and artistic stations such as canvas painting, "Paint‑a‑Cup," henna, and face painting.
Thanks to enthusiastic participation, all proceeds were donated to the Caucasian Onco Society's "Hope" initiative, which aims to provide support and resources to cancer patients and their families.
Real Talk: Safe Sex 101
In collaboration with Doctors For a Cause and the Equality Movement, GIMSOC hosted an educational symposium on sexual health.
Interactive presentations, games with prizes, and a canvas-painting session sparked meaningful conversations about love, responsibility, and well-being. This event pictured the need for awareness of sexual health in the current world.
Medathlon 2025
Coinciding with World Health Day, this athletic and wellness event welcomed 140 participants—from GIMSOC and other healthcare backgrounds—to support SOS Children's Villages.
This was a fun 3K marathon, which actively celebrated health and community for a charitable cause, bringing together the medical community in support of children in need.
Women's Health Awareness
Focusing on menstrual health, the event featured a talk by Dr. Ketevan Lagidze, interactive workshops, and fundraising booths that offered various activities, including food and bracelet-making.
All funds raised provided sanitary products through Tbilisi Volunteers, spotlighting the importance of access to menstrual essentials and supporting women's health in our community.
Our Continuing Impact
Fostering awareness, dialogue, and support for those who need it most is an ideology we would like to grow as our story goes. We look forward to the future, with a plan to give, build, and make a meaningful difference in our community and beyond.
